30. Wielder

Mahal ang tinola
Mahal na rin ang kanin
Sa panahon ngayon
Pati asin mahal na rin

Kelangan kung kumayod, kelangan kung gawin
Itong bakal aking tutunawin
Kelangan pagbutihin, kelangan sipagan
Dahil itong bakal, baka ay madaganan

Konting ilaw, takip sa mata
Dahil baka bukas ako'y bulag na
Kelangan ko rin ng "eyemo"
Dahil mamya magmumukha na 'kong "emo"

Siga pa! Hala Siga!
Takip uli, proteksyon sa mata
Siga pa! Hala Bira!
Bakal, dumikit ka na

29. WASH DAY!

Time to help my granny and so I decided to visit her at the farm. That would be four hours of land travel from our place. I miss her so much since the last time I saw her was 8 months ago and its Christmas break, it would also be a nice time for me to plant some rubber tree and help her manage the farm. However, when I arrived, she told me that December is not a good season for planting rubber, its best to cultivate those trees on May or during summer. And so I guess I have to wait, nevertheless, I still did my job. I watched over her cows, carabao and goats. I can’t forget the goat I made a fight with that small creature.

Granny's Farm

Ah, to add to my adventure, I also played with the chickens, actually what I wanted was to eat “tinolang manok” during dinner and native chicken is far better than commercial ones. I exerted some effort; give my best trick but no good in doing it since I have not caught one. But we had a delicious supper. The next day, granny told me that we will be visiting grandpa (granny’s brother) whose place is quite far from her. So we ride on a “trailer”, a vehicle used to carry farm goods, and travel for 45 minutes.

WAsh DAY!

Along the way, a nice event catches my eyes. I have not seen it for quite a long time. Along the irrigation, several women and children were washing their clothes. It was their “WASH DAY!”

Amazing

I immediately grabbed my camera and took some shots. I really thought that tradition is extinct since people living near that big water bank have accessed to electricity and “Lawasa” water.

Along the irrigation

I’m very happy seeing an event like that exists up to this time.
